^^ We got lost trying to find the entrance to Noodhoek beach, but we stopped to take a look at this view.

img_5218new

^^ walks on Noordhoek beach, on the hottest windiest day. ¬†I’m getting really tired of having huge pores and sweating all the time. ¬†Its way to hot here.

img_5233new

^^ The previous photo Carl had a Trump hairstyle going on thanks to the wind.  It was obscene!  but you would never tell by this photo.

img_5239new

^^ soooo windy.

img_5261new

^^ Almost baby time!

img_5266new

^^ I asked Carl for a jumping photo, I forgot he somehow hurt his back while getting into bed and have been suffering from old person symptoms. ¬†Maybe he’s just absorbing all my pregnancy symptoms I’m suppose to be having.

img_5280new

^^ We tried to have a picnic on Sunday, but the wind and heat was just too intense for us! We rushed home and tried to cool of by drinking a lot of iced water and regret making our outside fire for food grilling.

img_5286new

^^ Feeding pillow! Can you believe Carl sewed this together for me, while I took a nap! Obviously I’ve got a great little seamstress on my hands here. ¬†I found this fabric and just loved it! I also found another orange-y African print fabric that I turned into little zipper pouches for my diaper bag. ¬†I’ve been getting really tired of all the cutesy, kitchy things that people gift you when they find out your having a baby. ¬†I don’t know why everything has to look so cheap and crap? or plastic? I’m so tired of seeing pooh bear things. ¬†Also trying to find anything that’s really gender neutral in this country is near impossible! I’m trying so hard to have a low impact child on the environment, but yet people seem to think that includes giving me bottles that actually still contains bpa, toys that were banned in all the first world countries and diapers that I wont be using. FRUSTRATING! Oh well! Our donations pile is just getting bigger and bigger, most of the stuff we can’t even donate to orphanages, because they don’t even accept it!

Hi friends! How was your weekend? ¬†I can’t believe how soon it is till baby time. ¬†I’m so eager to get this labour over with! I’ve actually been having a great pregnancy, but the anticipation that any day now labour can start is killing me! ¬†I’m ready for my little baby! ¬†Did anyone else feel like this during the end of their pregnancy?

Hello friends! How was your weekend? We had a very active weekend of hiking, ocean time and getting some stuff for our baby. ¬†We’ve been trying to get a hike in every weekend and seeing how far we can go before my insane need to pee starts to kick in. ¬†Every weekend we get a little further and every return I tend to almost run home to the comfort of the loo. ¬†On Sunday we had big plans to go to this specific picnic area, but after getting lost, not being able to find a loo ANYWHERE, we somehow ended up driving along the ocean on the most magical ocean drive ever! ¬†Sometimes the things that aren’t planned work out even better. ¬†All the wild flowers all around the Cape has made even the most mundane tasks amazing.

How was your weekend? After a lot of planning we finally decided to go for a walk on the beach at melkbos strand. ¬†We didn’t expect it to be so windy and sunny all at the same time, and somehow felt like we got frostbite with heatstroke all at the same time. ¬†We decided to make a run back to the car for safety! ¬†On Sunday we walked to the waterfront from our apartment, I really love walking to places I want to go, its the best way to completely experience a place and see little beautiful things as you wander around. ¬†Here is to a wonderful week!

^^ This was actually a really hot day, but I was already committed to the beanie ( bad hair day) and the scarf was just meant to be.

How was your weekend? Get up to anything fun. ¬†We’ve been neighbourhood scouting, looking for an area that’s more us and out of the city. It turned out to be a really fun adventure, ¬†seeing alpacas, finding the best shop in the world that sold spaghetti squash and we even found a falafel shop. ¬†Obviously its been a great weekend, hopefully its a sign of a good week!

Cape Point

On Saturday we headed to Cape point, the drive there felt insanely long and it didn’t help that the gps maps lady, decided to take us on the craziest route ever created. ¬†We were zigzagging going through the navy base, feeling really awkward driving through military housing and somehow we got to the bottom feeling like we just trespassed on everyone’s property. ¬†We made it in the end and it was glorious.

Cape point  is the most south-westerly tip of Africa, covered in fynbos, beaches, and beautiful little hikes and picnic areas.  We kept having to stop thanks to ostriches thinking they are slow moving cars and refusing to get out of the road and some how finding their way in front of the car every turn we made.  There is also a lot of baboon warnings around, we actually saw a baboon right as we got there, just chilling eating a slice of pizza, not a care in the world, as I tried to take my camera out it started making a dodgy looking stride towards me, so of course I ran away screaming like a little girl, while the baboon ran the other way obviously confused.

Being the cheap people we are we decided to give the “flying dutchman” or the little tram that can take you to the top in 3 minutes a skip and the walk up was great! we saw cute little mice and I found out that all the learn mandarin things I’ve been using are all a bunch of liars! They say that Asian people never say Ni hao………Well we saw all the tourists and I constantly heard everyone saying ni hao. ¬†Lesson learned!

Walking to the top is a treat for the eyes! Panoramic views of the ocean makes you feel like you’ve fallen into a painting. ¬†If Cape town could be any colour it would be blue. ¬†Blue like the skies and the water, it always seem like everything is just blending together.

A walk in the forest – Newlands Forest

Since getting the car we’ve been planning our hiking adventures, but when Saturday started approaching and we had a large list of what kind of hike we didn’t feel like doing we started feeling kind of hopeless.

The kind of hike we weren’t interested in for the day was a hike that was in the blistering South African sun, anything that required us to pull ourselves up with chains to get over rocks, no heights, because I’m suffering from severe vertigo lately and something kind of mild. ¬†We finally settled on Tokai only to get there and be turned away, being a little heartbroken we decided to stop at the Tokai market, only to go into the most depressing market I’ve ever seen. There was only 4 stalls and a guy trying to force coffee on us. So off we set with no clue what to do, but Carl, being the little problem solver he is remembered a interesting looking hike that we drove by.

Newlands forest is amazing! It checked all our boxes and was a wonderfully cool walk surrounded by beautiful trees and mountains. ¬†Cute families taking hikes together, older people trying to stay fit and all the wonderful dogs. ¬†I don’t know why all dog owners have to pull their dogs away from me when I’m obviously trying to lure it with mind control and just a look in my eye that says “lets play”. ¬†Don’t apologize for your dog coming to me! I wan’t to stroke them all!

The views are to die for, the magical whimsical forest makes you feel like you’re a pretty, pretty Princess and the Fall leaves just create a wonderful feel.

IMG_2891new

^^ For some reason I don’t think anyone lives here.

IMG_2894new

^^ We get really excited when its not blistering hot and it feels like Fall! Leaves glorious leaves, how I’ve missed you!
