Company’s Gardens

Company’s Garden is settled right in the heart of the city, and is a huge park with a rose garden, amazing vegetable garden and lots more. ¬†You can’t forget to buy a pack of peanuts to feed to the crazy amount of squirrels following you around. It doesn’t feel all magical and Disney like as Ireland having squirrels following you around, these squirrels seemed rough and like they would take your wallet to go buy their own peanuts. ¬†The views of table mountain is amazing from the gardens.

The gardens were established in 1650’s by Dutch settlers and has South Africa’s first cultivated pear tree that has stood in the gardens since 1652.

Personally the park was a little bit too intense for me, the constant harassment from beggars and  people who just assume your a tourist, trying to scam you was a little bit too much for me, but poverty is a big thing here, I would probably just give the gardens a skip next time.

A riverside walk

Yesterday we decided to be spontaneous, our idea of spontaneity is usually planned. ¬†Yeah, we say it’s so last minute, but we overly plan everything, lets just go here, but research everything completely before we even attempt to have fun. ¬†It really takes away from the wonderment and joy of a place, you never really appreciate a place, because you spent half the day researching it and making sure its a okay. ¬†After long talks about why we need to stop certain habits like insane cheapness and planning everything out, we set off without a care or google maps assistance. ¬†We were treated to a beautiful river walk experience that was just wonderful! ¬†Walking around without a care, feeling so free in a sense was beyond wonderful. ¬†Sometimes you just have to let go and just go with it. ¬†Blessing are everywhere you just have to look around and trust you will find something amazing.

We’ve been talking a lot about why we are like this and trying to work through stuff so we can be our own people without having this crazy vibes that’s not really us, but rather the environments we’ve been in. ¬†Talking it out and realizing that’s not the people we want to be is wonderful, it all starts with realizing the person you want to be, one day I don’t want to tell my children do what I say, not what I do. ¬†I want to be a great example and live wonderfully.
