Rubeus Hagrid or Hagrid is one of the most interesting characters in Harry Potter. The groundskeeper and general nice guy of Hogwarts, stayed in a cut little hut on the grounds. The lovable half giant, sure has a heart of gold and cared for any animal he got his hands on.
Hagrid’s hut is an inviting little place, that had a lot of regular visitors ( I’m looking at you Harry and the gang), it was homely with a lot of charm.
Quilts, wooden floors, a fireplace that was used for cooking, hanging baskets are just a few things I think about when imagining Hagrid’s hut. Also pumpkins, lots and lots of pumpkins. The pumpkin juice has to come from somewhere!
Let’s bring Hagrid’s hut alive and a little bit more liveable.
^^ Growing some pumpkins in unique ways is the first step in bringing a little Hagrid into your home.
^^ Instead of hanging cages on your ceiling. Why not hang pretty baskets.
^^ When your wand is an umbrella, you are going to want to store in a mighty fine place.
^^ Cooking over your fireplace has never been so stylish.
^^ Storing your firewood doesn’t need to look bad, these are wonderful, tidy and stylish ways to store it.
^^ I love the look of a nice quilt. Placing it on your bed creates a nice whimsy feel.
^^ A nice faux fur throw over your couch is essential and looks so good.
^^ Living in a small hut by the woods is a dream of mine, but boy would I be scared at night. Candles on the wall is essential for keeping all the bad mystical creatures away.
^^ Yes, you are a muggle and you have little muggle hand, unlike our half giant friend that would easily drink out of these teacups. You will just have to settle with using them as a planter.
Happy Friday guys. Have a lovely weekend.
As much as I would have loved to be sorted into Hufflepuff, in reality if that sorting hat was placed onto my head, I would have gone to Ravenclaw. My love for studying, and learning something new everyday and my remarkable failure in athletics, would make me a born Ravenclaw. Obviously Luna Lovegood and I would have been best friends, I think the whole world should just know that.
If you are Ravenclaw, you will have wisdom beyond your years, filled with wit, competitive in a way that makes you cute, filled with intellect and will be so quirky its lovable.
Its no surprise Harry’s first love interest was a Ravenclaw.
The Ravenclaw dormitories is also a dream. Starry ceiling, cathedral windows, large bookcases, a great colour palette and perfect reading chairs.
Now lets look at my take of the a Ravenclaw inspired home.
^^ Sign me up for this! Lights on your ceiling to look like a clear night! Yes!
^^ A sun room or a sky light is a perfect way of seeing stars at night.
^^ The perfect reading chair for every Ravenclaw at heart.
^^ My love for cathedral windows, is drastically increased when I look at these.
^^ Any good Ravenclaw must have a large bookcase somewhere in their home.
^^ The Perfect blue couches for your quirky house. The last one is my favourite.
^^ When you are a proud Ravenclaw, you will have to let your love overflow and decorate your house with ravens. And so it shall be.
^^ Now, go get your study on at one of these desks.
Lets look at my take of a
Its time for another Harry Potter home inspiration post! and today’s inspiration comes from GRYFFINDOR! and the crowd goes wild.
Gryffindor was founded by Godric Gryffindor, the characteristics for Gryffindor consists of; courage, chivalry and determination. Personally I don’t think I would have landed a spot in Gryffindor, but I think we all have a little Gryffindor inside of us.
Finding home inspiration from Gryffindor is rather easy. With all those velvet couches, big pPersianrugs, dramatic fireplaces, reading nook and huge wooden cabinets. You just want to become a star quidditch playing, brave, but ever so reckless, with just a hint of arrogance Gryffindor.
Now lets take a look at my version of the Gryffindor dormitories!
^^ Now these are a great take on the Gryffindor couches and they still look comfy enough, for a long relaxing nap after learning about spells and potions.
^^ It just wouldn’t be Hogwarts without a fire place and the Gryffindor dormitories are no different. These fireplaces range from the overly dramatic to minimalistic, but yet all of them have that drama you want.
^^ Lets just take a second to talk about how incredible this sliding bookcase is. Its magical just to gaze upon it! Sign me up for one of those, right now!
^^ Big clunky bookcases have never looked so good, right?
^^ I’ve always had a thing for large Persian rugs, but boy, do they have a large price tag to go with the largeness of the carpet. These are absolutely breathtaking, I truly believe that blue one should be in my house right now.
^^ The one thing I love about Harry Potter, is the way it can make you giddy and these fireplace reading nooks, just speak to my heart. They SPEAK to it!
^^ You know you can’t go to Hogwarts without your trunk, and with all those outrageously small side tables in the Gryffindor dorm, you will have to use your trunk as a pretty table.
^^ This was the only red bedding I liked, it suits the room so well and you know you have to represent your colours.
^^ and the best for last the four poster beds that just bring out the Prince an Princess inside of us. I mean wizard and witch.
Happy Friday everyone. I hope you have found some home inspiration, if you are going on a shopping spree this weekend, if not have fun!
Harry Potter is filled with home inspiration and the Weasley’s definitely have some of the most amazing decor inspiration. They already rocked the mismatched dining room chairs, brightly coloured bookcases, whimsy teapots and just a very homely home. Its like Harry potter said “Its brilliant!”.
Here is my take on the Weasley house, a little bit more modern, but Oh so pretty.
^^ This blanket is just wonderful. I could actually see this get magically knitted.
^^ I’m so in love with these little teapot planters. I will be doing this in my garden soon.
^^ This tea cosy is just something special.
^^ This orange bookcase is a beautiful take on the Weasley house.
^^ Colourful reading nook.
^^ This blue cabinet is something easy you can do right now.
^^ I love the light fixtures.
^^ These pastel chairs are just a delight
^^ I really need this blanket in my life.
