I’m a big lover of sweet things, I never use to be, I was a big fan of everything savory, I wouldn’t even glance at a dessert menu when I went out. I could do without anything sweet, but for the past year all I’ve wanted is sweet things! Instead of falling completely off the deep end and just going on a sugar binge, I’ve been coming up with healthy alternatives for this ridiculous sweet tooth.
When I became pregnant I decided to get really into health and exercise. I know what you’re thinking ” who gets into exercise when they are pregnant?, she must be insane”. Something just clicked when I got pregnant with Arren I was determined to have a complication free pregnancy and really enjoy every moment. I cut out gluten, sugar, soy and dairy, and tried really hard to fuel my growing baby with good nutrition. It really worked for me, I had an amazing pregnancy, a really healthy baby, the best labor I could possibly have asked for and I didn’t have to worry about losing unwanted weight after having Arren. Instead I’ve been maintaining my health as much as I can and trying to exercise 5-6 days a week.
Making this Protein chocolate milkshake has become my after workout lifesaver! When I feel crampy from working out a bit too hard or when I just feel ravenous from carrying Arren around the whole day, drinking this shake keeps me full and gives me that pep in my step that my body craves. It’s packed full of good for you ingredients like spinach, bananas, protein powder and peanut butter. It’s the perfect recovery shake that tastes amazing! Something this delicious should be consumed on the reg!
