Easter 2017

This Easter 2017 was a great reminder how things sometimes don’t work out as planned and to take things as they come.  We planned a whole lot of Easter fun this year, this was the year we were going to start traditions, now that we have a son, but instead Carl got completely knocked down with a stomach bug.

On Friday we popped into my sisters house to drop of some Easter cupcakes I made and Easter eggs for her kids.

After we spread some cheer we went for our sandwich drive, I made a whole lot of sandwich packs and even included some homemade muffins to really spoil the homeless.  We planned to go to the same place we did a sandwich drive before, but this time around we didn’t even make it halfway.  There was just a ridiculous amount of homeless people on the road, we gave some packages to some street children.  The joy on their faces was just magical.  I really put my all in these little lunch packs.  I kept telling Carl that I don’t want to get the cheapest things, I want to give them stuff that I would want to eat and that will make them feel special and realise that someone cares about them.

On Friday night Carl got completely knocked down by a stomach bug….he’s been man down for the entire weekend and is still recovering.  He’s finally going to the DR today, but man! Its been rough taking care of two giant babies the whole weekend.

I planned a whole brunch spread for Sunday, but instead the day was filled with congee (rice porridge) and bananas!  At least I got to eat all the delicious sourdough sugar free cinnamon rolls I made!

Here’s hoping I don’t get this stomach bug!

How was your Easter? Do you have any Easter traditions?

I hope you and baby don’t get sick. I ended up going to the ER on Saturday because all Friday I was so sick with throat and ear pain and it turns out I have strep throat. Now on antibiotics, which I hate, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Started feeling better on Sunday afternoon. I made some blueberry banana bread on Sunday which was super yum! 🙂 The cupcakes look great!

Oh no!That’s terrible! I hope you feel better soon! I hate going on antibiotics, it always just makes me feel worse, but Carl went on antibiotics yesterday and he started feeling better almost an hour later. I hope you feel better soon! I love your banana bread recipe.
